Zuziwe Khuzwayo

Dr Zuziwe Khuzwayo is a global feminist gender practitioner who has worked in civil society, research institutions and philanthropy.
Zuziwe is a sociologist, with a deep understanding of development, and the challenges that face societies as they seek to advance, and navigate changing circumstances.
Most of her work has been done in the Global South and in each of these roles the intersection of gender, race, class and sexuality has always been at the core of her work.
She is passionate about social justice especially for those in the Global South and centring those who have been historically marginalised. She has published in the Journal of International Women's Studies, Agenda Journal, South African Review of Sociology as well as the Labour Bulletin, and presented at numerous local and international conferences.

What is our role, as African citizens, in educating people in Europe and challenging the dominant narratives that are often imposed on us? We must actively engage in the work of reshaping narratives and shifting mindsets. While changing deeply held perceptions takes time, the investment of energy and persistence is worthwhile.
