Alessia Argiolas

Dr. Alessia Argiolas is a postdoctoral researcher at the Chair of Corporate Sustainability at the Technical University of Munich (TUM School of Management), where she also serves as the research coordinator for the TUM SEED Center—an international initiative focused on sustainable energy and development. A scholar at the intersection of entrepreneurship, sustainability, and social impact, Alessia brings an interdisciplinary lens to understanding how ventures can generate meaningful change in underserved communities.

Her research draws from qualitative and participatory methods to explore how impact is created, measured, and experienced—particularly in remote regions of Africa and India where off-grid energy ventures are reshaping local economies and expectations. Her work is published in leading academic journals including the Journal of Business Venturing, Business & Society, and Business Research Quarterly.

A recipient of the prestigious Joachim Herz Fellowship, Dr. Argiolas is recognized for her cross-sectoral research agenda, which bridges the worlds of academia, policy, and practice.

Alessia earned her PhD in Management and Innovation from the Catholic University of Milan. She teaches across bachelor, master, and executive levels, and has a growing presence in international academic and policy circles at the intersection of sustainability, social innovation, and global equity.
